Embodied Psychotherapist & Mentor
I work with people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, lost, angry, numb, or disconnected - often holding unprocessed trauma, grief, or emotional pain in their bodies. Maybe you know you’re experiencing burnout or holding trauma, grief, anxiety or old emotional wounds. Maybe you feel like you’re spinning in cycles or patterns of relating you can’t break. Or maybe you just know something isn’t right and you’re ready for change - even if you’re not sure what that looks like yet.

If you are looking for counselling Southampton, psychotherapy Southampton, trauma therapy Southampton, or an inclusive therapist who understands neurodivergence, LGBTQ+ identities, and the realities of parenting a neurodivergent child, I bring over 20 years of therapeutic experience to support you with compassion and care.

Working with Kirsteen on an individual and in a group basis has been instrumental in changing how I understand, recover and navigate forwards from trauma.  Kirsteen has the most incredible depth of authentic experience and knowledge and has this amazing ability to always seems to know exactly what I need no matter what I bring to my sessions with her.  Kirsteen’s sessions always seem to expand time, are never rushed and yet I always travel so far, every time I see her.  The group sessions Kirsteen runs are the kindest, most compassionate, enlightening safe spaces I have ever attended.

I’ve been part of this trauma-informed bodywork group for three years now, and it has been a truly life-changing experience. The group has given me a deeper understanding of myself and of how trauma lives in the body. The work has helped me to connect with my emotions, release what I’ve been holding, and make sense of my patterns in a new way.

What I value most is the safety of the space - I feel really well held, without having to take responsibility for anyone else, and yet I learn so much from hearing and witnessing others. Often, I find myself not wanting to go, but I go anyway, and I’m always glad I did. The combination of Kirsteen's skill and expertise, the group support, and the bodywork practices makes this group an anchor in my healing journey.

I now am able to talk about my labour without feeling dread, anxiety and disappointment.

Since working with Kirsteen on my birth trauma resolution i have noticed a big reduction in my anxiety and the distress caused by my birth and post birth experience. I am now able to recall the memories of the birth of my daughter in a more positive light. This has lifted the weight I felt and given me the opportunity to appreciate that the birth, although difficult, gave me the greatest gift. I now am able to talk about my labour without feeling dread, anxiety and disappointment. I will always remember the tough time I had, but being able to reflect in a more objective manner has taken away the anxiety. Thanks again Kirsteen.

This is a very unique service that truly specialises in releasing trauma.

The best gift I've been given by Kirsteen, is the ability to now have the first thought about my traumatic birth be a content and happy one. I worked with Kirsteen four years after the birth of my child. Despite progress over the years, I still struggled with many aspects of my child's birth. I feel very honoured to have met and worked with Kirsteen.

This is a very unique service that truly specialises in releasing trauma. Kirsteen is the consummate professional, I highly recommend her services for this very delicate work.
