FAQ’s for 1-2-1 sessions
How do I book a session?
First you can use my contact page to book a free 15 minute consultation.
After the consultation we can book in either a face-to-face or online session, which you’ll need to pay a deposit to secure.
I will then email you a contract and an intake form asking for more information so I can plan our first session together.
How long is a session?
A typical session lasts 60 minutes. However, in-person sessions can last 60 minutes, 75 minutes or 90 minutes, depending on your needs.
The length of the session dictates the cost and this will be discussed in advance.
Online sessions are always 60 minutes.
How much do sessions cost?
A 60 minute session costs £60, a 75 minute session costs £75 and a 90 minute session costs £90. This will be agreed before the session on an individual basis.
Payment to be made before the session by bank transfer or cash accepted on the day.
Cancellation policy applies.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. Sessions cancelled with less notice will be charged in full, except in exceptional circumstances.

What does a somatic psychotherapy session look like?
Each session with me will look different, depending on your needs.
I am a trained pluralistic therapist, which means I will ask questions of you to find out what your desired outcomes are for therapy. I will then collaborate with you to work out the most effective way to support you to realise these outcomes. I will offer suggestions of what the session could include and you then get to choose which direction it takes.
Methods I work with include, but are not limited to; empty chair and action methods, inner child work, somatic embodiment and regulation strategies, solution focussed methods, parts world, drawing therapy, emotional release work (particularly around fear and anger), psychoeducation of the nervous system, polyvagal theory, grief, CBT techniques and the expression of legitimate anger to upregulate the nervous system. I also offer specific trauma therapies such as somatic EMDR and Rewind Technique. I also use titration and pendulation methods in my practice. I am currently training in the FLASH technique.
How many sessions will I need?
This will always depend on your desired outcomes and goals, along with your readiness to change.
Big change can happen in 1-3 sessions. However, other work to address long held beliefs, behavioural patterns or grief may need to happen over many more sessions. I tend to suggest that people book in 3 weekly sessions to get started and then we can review. Following that, you can continue with weekly sessions, or drop to 2 weekly if that feels more sustainable for long term work.
No two people with the same desired outcome will learn and heal at the same pace. The uniqueness of each individual’s needs around pacing are respected.
Do you work with people with disabilities?
Depending on the disability, yes. If I’m not the best person for the job I will always try to recommend a colleague who will better meet your needs.
People with physical disabilities. My Southampton Clinic is not fully accessible currently. If you would like to have in-person sessions, I would be willing to find a local room that is fully accessible for you.
Do you have an awareness of issues facing BIPOC in therapy?
Yes, I welcome and deeply value working with Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. I recognize that therapy has often excluded, pathologized, or misunderstood BIPOC experiences, and that healing doesn’t happen in a vacuum—it happens within a context shaped by systemic racism, colonialism, intergenerational trauma, and power dynamics. I’m actively committed to learning, unlearning, and reflecting on my own position and privilege. While this is a growing edge for me, I continue to take courses, seek guidance and supervision, and show up with humility and care in support of your needs.
Do you work with neurodivergent people?
Yes, I work with many neurodivergent individuals, including those who identify as autistic, ADHD, highly sensitive, or otherwise outside of neurotypical norms. I recognize that being neurodivergent often comes with unique challenges—and strengths—that can be misunderstood or overlooked. Together, we create a supportive space that honours your way of thinking and being, while also exploring how experiences like masking, social pressure, and past trauma may impact your emotional well-being and nervous system. Do you work with people with chronic health conditions?
Yes I work with people who live with chronic illness. Many chronic health conditions are not just physical, they can also be deeply connected to unprocessed emotions, stress and trauma. In our work together we can explore both the emotional and physical aspects of your health to support deeper healing.
Do you work with people from the LGBTQ community?
Yes, I’m committed to providing an affirming and supportive space for LGBTQ+ individuals. I understand that queer and trans folks often carry the weight of societal stigma, identity-based stress, and past or ongoing trauma. These experiences can deeply affect mental and physical health, especially when emotions have had to be suppressed for safety or survival. In our work together, we gently explore those layers—honoring your identity, your resilience, and your path toward healing and wholeness.
Do you work with parents who have neurodivergent children?
Yes, I support parents and caregivers of neurodivergent children, including those with autism, ADHD, sensory sensitivities, and other forms of neurodivergence. Parenting in this context can be both deeply rewarding and uniquely challenging, especially when navigating systems that may not fully understand or support your child. It’s common for parents to carry unprocessed emotions - grief, guilt, fear, or overwhelm - that deserve space and care. Our work together offers support for your emotional well-being, helps you reconnect with your own needs, and empowers you to show up with more clarity and compassion for both yourself and your child. I can also help if your children are not currently in school. Learn more here.
